Estimator - Building
Who you'll be working for:
In business for over 75 years, as a group employing over 75,000 staff with a turnover of ???20Bil, one of Ireland and the UK's top construction companies, working across the building and civil engineering industries.
Due to significant growth and the positive climate of the construction industry, they have an opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join their team based within their building division within the Belfast offices.
Current live projects include, Education, Healthcare, Hotels, Residential, amongst other large scale building projects.
What you'll need to have:
The successful candidate will have a degree / HNC in a construction / quantity surveying / estimating discipline with 6 years + working on large building projects, preferably with a large contractor, with experience of the above mentioned industries.
Key Responsibilities :
- Responsible for the preparation of the tender with assistance from the pre-construction team.
- Report directly to the Commercial Manager.
- Upon receipt of tender documents, review and prepare a report, including tender deliverables.
- Undertake a site inspection and prepare a report.
- Compile an appropriate risk register and update accordingly.
- Prepare and send out Tender enquiries to supply chain and review quotations received.
- Prepare Tender sum analysis, priced document/Bill of Quantities
- Cross check/take off quantities from drawings as required.
- Attend, both internal and external tender review meetings with the procurement team.
- Liaise with Design Consultants to obtain design information and review value engineering proposals/construction processes.
- Prepare post tender valuation of submission to the construction team
- File tender documentation in accordance with the company procedure
- Attend handover meeting to brief the construction team.
- Review production analysis and update.
