South Wales Police has long recognised technology as an enabler of policing. Over the last 10 years we have invested considerable time, effort and resources in ensuring that our technology is fit for purpose and meets modern policing requirements. To us this means it’s integrated, available and reduces bureaucracy for officers and staff.
This positive approach has led to both national and international recognition and the Force is seen as a leading force in the development of technology.
As well as being the home to the capital of Wales, the vibrant city of Cardiff, we also serve 42% of the Welsh population. Every year we support 200 major events and the area welcomes over 25 million visitors.
We are currently seeking the following highly motivated and experienced ICT Specialist to help us achieve our vision which is ‘To be the best at understanding and responding to our communities needs’. We aim to provide a service of the highest quality to our communities ensuring that they are at the heart of our service delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Force’s ICT department as it embarks on a significant business and technological programme of change. In addition, being part of a multi-discipline IT team scoping, researching and implementing solutions to meet the force’s future infrastructure, database and business application requirements.
