Our client is committed to an individualised, person centred philosophy of service delivery which is designed around the individual needs and choices of their service users.
Their mission is to promote the independence, inclusion and well-being of people with support needs. They do this by working with the people they support, their families and partner agencies to deliver innovative, high quality services that meet individual needs and aspirations in a person centred way.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of their new service in Stockport where you will be able to contribute to the shaping of a brand new team. You will provide person centred support to people with learning disabilities and/or complex needs, in all aspects of every-day life and engaging and participating with their local communities.
They are looking for enthusiastic, resourceful and energetic individuals who are well motivated, hardworking and keen to join their friendly team. Although previous experience is not essential, you will demonstrate the values that are essential for a role of this nature such as warmth, compassion and unconditional positive regard. You will receive a full local and corporate induction. You will have access to ongoing internal and external training and personal development through regular supervisions and appraisals.
You must be willing to actively embrace all aspects of the role including support with personal care and domestic tasks as well as community activities such as walking, swimming and going to the gym. The ability to support people who can express their needs though challenging behaviour at times is essential. Prior experience in this field of work is beneficial, although not a substitute for an engaging, creative and person centred approach. They will value the personal skills and interests you bring to the role and to the lives of service users, such as sports, walking and outdoor pursuits, creative arts, music and cooking; to name but a few!
They offer full-time positions and you will be required to work in a flexible manner on rota which includes evenings, weekends and sleep-ins. They also offer part-time positions which are ideal for fitting around personal commitments, study or caring responsibilities. In addition to opportunities for personal and career development, they offer good conditions of service and a supportive, hands-on management culture.
Our client is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to delivering local high quality care through a well-established and supported local work force.
