One of their single residency homes in Blackley, Manchester, provides care and support to a young lady with complex health needs. They are currently recruiting for Female Care Assistants (preferably drivers as a car will be provided) to cover maternity leave (32 hours) and permanent part time (18 hours a week) to support the services user at home, in the community and carrying out interest lead activities. As Care Assistant or Community Support Worker you will join a dedicated team who provide a high standard of care and support to their young person. Care and support is a 24/7 role, therefore, they require a degree of flexibility in their availability. The role is incredibly diverse and will include the following responsibilities;

  • Getting to know the service users and their interests and needs
  • Supporting with personal care, for instance, washing, personal hygiene, changing pads, dressing, hair and make-up
  • Administering medication
  • Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) feeding
  • Food Preparation and support with meal times
  • Carrying out general tasks like housework, laundry and shopping
  • Giving emotional and practical support – encouraging to go out in the community
  • Helping to organise activities
  • Moving and Handling
  • First Aid

You will receive full training and support for the role, however, they would prefer that you have some experience of providing care at this level, whether within a care home, hospital or home care/domiciliary setting. You will be a naturally caring individual who takes pride in their work and goes the extra mile, however this is an incredibly rewarding role!
