Head of Engineering

We're looking for a motivated professional to take on the role of Head of Engineering for a world leader in secure, end to end digital media technologies. If you have a proven track record in managing large teams of people and can demonstrate a genuine passion for technology, then we have an exciting opportunity for you.What will you be doing?As Head of Engineering you will oversee the organisation's Service Platform and be responsible for its continuation, ensuring team development and taking the initiative to realise further business benefits through continuous improvement. You will take a pro-active approach in reviewing architecture and developing technology strategies. Working closely with the Systems Architecture and Product Line Management functions you will ensure good management of the portfolio of work and formulate long-term objectives and standards of performance for the department. Your excellent communication skills will be utilised when promoting best practice development techniques across teams and providing support to the PMO function to manage resourcing and capacity for upcoming work. You will show confidence when pushing and innovating new ideas for the most efficient R&D processes.Further to this, you will manage a multi-location team of 40 engineers. You will be responsible for conducting training, performance reviews, recruitment drives and demonstrate a meticulous attention to detail when managing company budgets. If you're an enthusiastic expert with the ability to drive and develop teams, then you could be the ideal Head of Engineering.Who should you be? * An individual with previous experience of managing a software engineering team of at least 40 people * A professional with a sound knowledge of the latest strategies around Microservices and Cloud Native development, as well as the ability to demonstrate an understanding of Dev Ops best practices and Continuous Delivery * A technical talent with significant experience with Agile, Scrum or other rapid application development methodologies * A natural leader with the ability to manage, coach, train and motivate staff in both technical and leadership development.Who will you be working for?As Head of Engineering you will be joining a global organisation with offices across Europe, America and Asia.
