Location: Weston-Super-Mare

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Support Worker to join our friendly and dynamic Young Carers Team, working with children and young people who have caring responsibilities in North Somerset.
Working with our Young Carers Coordinators, you will be helping to plan, deliver and evaluate a varied programme of group work and activities.
This role will be required to support group programmes which mainly take place in the early evening on Mondays and Tuesdays. The work pattern for this role is as follows:
Week 1
Monday: 10.00am - 2.00pm (office planning & admin)
Tuesday: 4.30pm - 7.30pm (New Horizons group)
Week 2
Monday: 5.30pm - 8.30pm (Young Adult Carers group)
Tuesday: 4.30pm - 7.30pm (New Horizons group)
+ 1 hour of office planning & admin time to be arranged on Monday/Tuesday
NB the New Horizon group runs periodically throughout the year in 6 week blocks - during periods when the group is not running, the hours may be used for planning and admin, during the day, or to support other areas of our programme. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.
We are looking for a creative and energetic individual, with experience of working with young people. The successful candidate will have great communication and organisational skills and be able to work sensitively with young people of all ages.
This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check and the ability to travel across the North Somerset area.
