ActionAid are recruiting for a Women's Rights News Team Officer to help raise our profile as a leader on the rights of women and girls.
If you are looking for a busy and challenging role, working in a fast paced environment, this may be the role for you.
We are keen to hear from those with proven experience of working in media relations across a range of output including print, digital or broadcast journalism.
Our ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting women's rights, excellent news judgement and a proven ability for identifying media opportunities and selling in stories.
To be successful in this role you must have excellent written skills and an ability to explain complicated stories in a simple and effective way.
You should have strong networking skills and an ability to develop and maintain journalistic contacts.
You must also be able to effectively manage conflicting priorities and a busy workload, whilst working collaboratively and efficiently as part of a team.
You should also be able to work effectively under pressure and be ready to react rapidly to breaking stories.
This role may involve occasionally travelling at short notice and sharing out of hours on call media work.
