This is an opportunity to join a team that covers both Surrey and Sussex Police. The Chief Information Officer (CIO) has responsibility for Information Technology, Information Security, Assurance and Management in addition to a regional and national agenda. This position will be to cover maternity leave and will be a 12 month Secondment or a Fixed Term Contract
The Role
The role of the Personal Assistant is to provide a proactive and dynamic support service to allow the CIO to work efficiently and effectively. In addition, diary management and some meeting support will be required for the other members of the IT Senior Management Team of which there are three.
To be successful in this role, you must be able to work on your own initiative, with minimum supervision and in close collaboration with the Staff Officer to the CIO.
Key Responsibilities
The Personal Assistant is responsible for diary management and ensuring that the CIO has the right papers for the right meetings and anticipating any additional requirements that they may have.
Information arriving into the office needs to be prioritised and suitably dealt with. Appropriate briefings should be organised in liaison with the Staff Officer.
As and when required, agenda's, minutes, actions and decisions logs for specific meetings will need to be maintained and circulated to attendees in advance.
Skills & Experience
Advanced Microsoft Office skills will be required, particularly in relation to Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.
It is essential that the role holder has a high degree of organisational skills, working to tight deadlines and dealing with competing demands.
This role requires interaction with a range of people across a variety of different organisations and therefore excellent interpersonal and communication skills are needed as is the ability to appropriately handle sensitive information.
