This is an exciting opportunity for someone ready to take on the challenges of being the Health & Safety Director for this cGBP100m business.
You will lead a team of Health & Safety advisors/managers across this construction business.
The Executive Management is fully embracing that good H&S isn't just a legal obligation but is actually smart business, enhancing staff morale, business reputation and profitability.
You will report directly to the MD and take responsibility for leading the H&S function in terms of establishing performance metrics but more importantly introducing behavioural safety across the business moving towards a business that establishs best practise at the very first stages of the operation, rather than enforcing safe activities as an after-thought.
You will be interface with the HSE and with external stakeholders but will also lead the charge and establish the importance of H&S to the wider business by being present and active "at the coal face". This is a job for someone who enjoys the challenge of cultural change and over-turning old behaviours.
You will have gained experience from within construction, be that rail, civil or commercial build and will either be looking to apply the skills you have learned from within a blue-chip organisation into a smaller environment where you establish the behaviour and methods of operation.
You will be a member of the IOSH and hav egained NEBOSH qualifications along with extensive relevant CPD.
