Free ParkingGlastonbury Ambridge Harris are recruiting for a firm near Glastonbury who are looking for a Payroll Clerk, this role will go permanent after temping for a few weeks. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the ideal candidate should have an awareness of current legislation at all times and be able to meet deadlines ensuring payments to employees are made in an accurate and timely manner. The Role: * Process all aspects of payroll data on a monthly basis in line with both statutory and company requirements* Perform comprehensive checks of all data during pay processing routines* Handle and resolve pay queries to a successful conclusion* Provide timely information for both month and year end reporting purposes* Liaise with all business areas to ensure flow of information is constantly maintained throughout the pay cycle* Provide support in delivering accurate and timely payroll reports* Work with the Payroll Manager to develop existing procedures / systems Your Background * Good all round payroll experience is essential with the ability to use computerised systems* Understanding of PAYE and Inland Revenue legislation* Maintain accuracy at all times with a keen eye for detail* Ability to withhold confidential information* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines* Well developed communication skills* A team player with initiative, drive and self motivation* Flexible and adaptable* Experienced in Excel and Word Due to the high volume of applications we receive it is not always possible to respond to unsuccessful applicants.
