Job Description

This Treasury Accountant job with a leading financial services business is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with some experience of Treasury to join a world-class team in a project-focussed role. The company is a true leader in its field, renowned for innovation and respected throughout the finance community for the work that it does, and the way in which its staff feel value and able to contribute to the growth and direction of the business.

As a result of this growth, there now exists an exciting opportunity for the position of Treasury Accountant. Working as part of a tight-knit treasury team that plays a full and active part within the wider finance group, the Treasury Accountant will have a broad and far reaching role. Approximately 20% of the Treasury Accountant??????s time will be spent on the ??????business as usual?????? treasury work, for example: cash management, foreign exchange management, liquidity forecasting, carrying out financial transactions and Exco reporting. The remaining 80% of time will be project related and will see you work with very senior stakeholders within and outwith the finance function to support the business from a treasury perspective.

A key component of this work will be to closely analyse and report on the merits of various investment vehicles to maximise returns whilst minimising risk and adhering to all necessary governance protocols. The Treasury Accountant will proactively look for opportunities to optimise current Treasury processes and will seek to develop new approaches to improve the process and control environment. In addition, you will co-ordinate intercompany settlement proposals, whilst forecasting and reporting on the liquidity of trading entities, thus liaising with banks on a daily basis to ensure that the necessary liquidity levels are maintained.

In order to be successful in this role, it is anticipated that you will be a qualified accountant (probably trained in a Top 10 or mid-tier firm) with 3 years+ PQE, demonstrable problem-solving analytical skills and an ability to get ??????underneath the skin?????? of the numbers and present your findings to very senior stakeholders. The team in general, and this role in particular has great visibility across the business, thus career progression opportunities within treasury, finance or the business at large are plentiful.
