HGV Fitter/ Technician

Purpose:

To contribute within the engineering main function of ensuring that all vehicles and plant equipment is maintained and to ensure reliability and safety.

Complete MOT preparations, servicing and inspection of vehicles, PMI's and rectifying all repairs.

Key responsibilities:

• To ensure that all company vehicles and plant are inspected, serviced and maintained so as to comply with current legislation and manufacturer recommendations.
• To ensure that all company vehicles are maintained to standards set by DFT and that statutory "O" licence requirements are complied with.
• To ensure that all necessary paper work, daily worksheets and time sheets are completed and signed off.
• To ensure compliance with all Health and Safety and ISO procedures.
• To comply with Company HR Policy and procedures.
• To seek technical advice from Fleet Manager / Fleet Engineer in the absence of a supervisor on site.
• To participate on the duty rota when required to cover bank holidays.
• Any other duties as required by the Workshop Supervisor and Business Manager for the smooth running of the workshop.
• Complete relevant paperwork with all tasks.

Qualifications, Experience & Training -

HGV licence preferable but not essential

• Waste industry experience - desirable but not essential
