Part Time Support Worker – Blackburn

Salary up to £24,656 (subject to skills and experience)

St Vincent’s Housing Association provides a diverse range of over 3500 homes across the North West. Our Foyers are exciting and dynamic initiatives that provide high standard supported accommodation for young people aged 16 to 25. We assist residents to develop independent living skills with an emphasis on education, training and career issues. We have the following part time vacancy at our Foyer in Blackburn:

 

Working directly with our young people and assisting them in developing all the skills needed for successful independent living, you will need to have a proven track record in this highly rewarding field.

Enthusiasm and a strong commitment to meeting the individual needs of each young person accessing our service are essential. Demonstrable experience in one to one support planning, risk assessment, delivering training and an understanding of the welfare benefits system is also required. You must be client focused, have the ability to communicate at all levels, be a self starter and demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm to helping our young people achieve their goals.

As this post is based in a supported housing project for young people and children, the successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced criminal records with barring lists background check.

This is a part time post. Some evening work will be required. Hours of work are 29 hours per week, between 8 am and 8 pm, Monday to Friday as required on the Foyer rota.
