Marketing Executive

An overview of the opportunity...

We are looking for a talented and highly motivated Marketing Executive to join our small team based at our new, modern offices in Kidderminster.  The primary responsibility of the team is to deliver first-class multi-channel campaigns to support our sales activity across our three divisions; Business Software, IT Solutions, and Cyber Security.  The team is also responsible for delivering internal communication to our staff through our intranet, as well as presenting a professional image of the business to our customers, prospects, the media, industry partners and other stakeholders.

You will have specific responsibility for developing and delivering marketing campaigns for our Business Software Division, targeting prospects to generate new business leads as well as communicating with existing customers to promote up-sell and cross-sell opportunities.  In addition you will have responsibility for group-wide campaigns such as web content, brochure content and our social media channels so you should enjoy writing and be able to grasp an understanding of our products and services and how they help businesses across our whole portfolio.

What you should expect…

We receive lots of requests for marketing support from across the whole group so you should enjoy the buzz of juggling multiple projects and be able to prioritise and manage challenging workloads.  However you will be given full support from the team and will be given the opportunity to spend time with the various departments across the business to get a good understanding of what they do and the services they offer to our 1,200 customers across the UK.

The role is extremely varied and will give you the opportunity to develop your marketing skills across the full marketing mix utilising both traditional and digital channels.  We have two sites, one in Kidderminster and the other in Stourport so you will need to be able to drive as you will be required to attend meetings at both sites.  You will also have the opportunity to travel to our customers’ sites to conduct interviews for case studies.

Hours: 38 hours 15 minutes per week (Monday to Friday)

Who you will be working with...

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will have key role with a broad remit spanning all aspects of Marketing giving you great autonomy to own your own campaigns and see them through from start to finish.  The Marketing team are located in an open plan area within the Central Services Division enabling you to interact daily with other friendly staff from our HR, Legal, and Finance teams. You will also work closely with the Sales and Delivery teams.

The ideal candidate...

You will have at least two years’ experience of developing and delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns to a high standard:

  • Editorial writing skills are pivotal to this role so excellent spelling and English grammar skills are critical, as is the ability to effectively write content fit for the target audience
  • Experience of creating eMarketing campaigns using an email marketing tool, preferably DotMailer
  • Knowledge of InDesign/Photoshop to be able to create simple graphics and make basic edits (we use an external Graphic Designer for the creation of core literature and imagery)
  • Understanding of the importance, and ability to follow, corporate brand guidelines
  • Event / project management – will need good organisation skills and the ability to engage others, including third party providers, to ensure the successful delivery of an event or key marketing project
  • Measuring the effectiveness of campaigns is important to demonstrate ROI so you will need good data skills using Excel and/or Access
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint and Excel is also required
  • You will have a positive, can-do attitude and be able to generate creative ideas for campaigns in often short lead times

In return...
