Mechanical Building Services Engineer (Design)

A Mechanical Building Services Engineer with Design experience is required to work on a twelve month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Preston.

This is a 12 month contract with a leading UK defence company.

Overview of the Mechanical Building Services Engineer (Design) contract role

The UK Infrastructure North team are seeking a talented Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join their multi-disciplinary team, working mainly within the defence sector.

The role includes

• Working with clients and stakeholders to turn requirements into concept and developed designs.
• The production of concept/developed design documentation, liaising with our customers and contractors, reviewing third party design and construction drawings and material specifications, executing technical site surveys and writing reports.
• Deliver construction projects and to ensure the correct Engineering governance is applied through the project life cycle.

Key skills required for the Mechanical Building Services Engineer (Design)

• A post-graduate with work experience within the construction industry.
• The applicant should have a practical experience within a design consultancy or Contractor environment.
• Experience in the design and specification of mechanical building services systems, including HVAC, Public Health, Fire protection and the ability to produce technical construction drawings and details.
• Capability in the use of AutoCAD and/or Revit 2015 BIM Level 2-3 would be desirable.
• Good level of general IT computer skills including MS Word, Excel etc.
• Previous experience of working in the defence sector or on UK MOD Sites would be desirable

The role is based in Samlesbury, Lancashire - commutable from Blackpool, Preston, Lancaster, Morecambe, Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn, Darwen, Burnley, Skipton, Stockport, Manchester, Warrington, Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham with excellent access from Liverpool and Leeds.
