KSR has a unique opportunity available for a Quality Engineer to join the team in Swansea. The role is a full time, permanent position offering a salary of circa £34,000 per annum plus private medical, cash plan, pension, life assurance.

The Quality Engineer assists the Quality Manager in planning, co-ordinating and directing the quality control programmes designed to ensure continuous manufacturing of products consistent with established standards by performing the duties listed below.  Helps to facilitate the staff training and implementation of procedures associated with IATF 16949 certification.

What are the responsibilities of the Quality Engineer?

- Demonstrable experience of NPI. Delivering new product and processes on-time and on-cost.

- Maintains quality control objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals as well as the goals set for the KSR facility.

- Analyses statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy for finished product.

- Applies total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes within each department.

- Assists workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.

- Investigates customer complaints associated with product quality and co-ordinates the development of root cause analyses via 8D programmes and the development of corrective counteraction issues.

- Guide and advise the Internal Process auditing, yield analysis and product auditing functions for the elimination of Quality risk.

- Facilitates the development of action plans to maintain/extend the quality management system certification. 

What do we look for in a Quality Engineer?

- A Graduate or HNC in Electronics or related Science / Engineering discipline or equivalent.

- Experience within a manufacturing environment or supply chain environment – preferable High Volume and/or Automotive. Preferably to include:-

- Good working knowledge of automotive core tools, standards and quality documents such as QOS, FMEA, G8D

- In depth knowledge of new product introduction and development processes such as APQP, PPAP including MSA, Control Plans and PFMEA

- Understanding of statistical technique for process control, manufactured variance, sample selection and calculation of predicted reliability performance

- Well proven track record in Problem Solving

- Experience of working with Customers and/ or Suppliers

- Experience in process auditing techniques and familiar with the requirements of IATF 16949 and ISO14001

- Experience of 6 Sigma or TPM with regards to continuous improvement

- Experience of IMDS beneficial
