My client is a leading manufacturer of braking systems for the rail vehicles. In addition to braking systems within the group the also manufacture door systems, air conditioning installations, control components and windscreen wipers.

They are now looking to recruit an experienced Quality Engineer for their machine shop based in Wiltshire who supply finished components to the head office in Wilshire. The role will report directly inti the Quality Manager for the site ensuring all objectives are met with regards quality.

The main duties are:

  • Develop/implementation of new/improved inspection techniques.

  • Investigation of non-conformances with the aim of determining corrective/preventative actions.

  • Pro-actively challenge existing QA controls to improve their effectiveness and robustness of deployment.

  • Manage and further advance the development of gauging and metrology equipment and standard inspection methods for inspection and shop floor requirements.

  • Deploy and improve the maturity of measurement system analysis activities and R&R when required.

  • Collaborates with Inspection, Engineering and Production to immediately and effectively resolve manufacturing issues, improve product quality and inspection criteria.

  • Manage the Quality Quarantine area with finial decisions and defect cataloguing.

    You must be educated to a minimum of HNC/HND level with a good knowledge of the core quality tools, and CMM experience.

    This position may be suitable for an experienced Quality Inspector looking to take the next step in their career, or an existing Quality Engineer from a precision engineering background looking for new challenge.
