Production Planning Manager / Senior Planner
(FMCG/Food and Drink)
GBP30000 - GBP35000/annum
Location: Leeds
Our client is an expanding multi-site category leader in the food industry, Due to expansion, we have an existing newly created role in planning to recruit, reporting remotely to the Supply Chain Manager.
This will suit a Senior Production Planner hoping to take the next step into Planning Management or a Production Planning Manager searching for new opportunity in a new food and drink category. Your purpose will be to deliver 100% customer fulfilment!
You will be joining a values driven business that can offer a fast paced and challenging working environment. Flexibility is key requirement for the ever changing demands of this food retail producer and supplier.
Summary of role and responsibilities:
•Take responsibility for the production planning function at a medium sized food processing / manufacturing site, managing a planner, delivering both daily operational production plans and the medium term capacity plans to the business.
•The effective management of product activity including promotions, launches and delists - JIT stock availability to fulfil orders and to minimise waste
•Ensure that customer service and supply Issues are appropriately communicated both externally and internally
•Ensure that the planning system is accurately maintained and delivers customer service and maximises planned operational performance
•Maintaining and managing the operational sales forecast ensuring that it is aligned to the Commercial forecast and product activity documentation.
•Accurately applying the forecast through the planning and stock control systems
•Develop and maintain relationships with our key customer contacts providing effective and timely communication regarding customer service.
•Working effectively with the Operational, Commercial, Technical and Finance teams
Person specification:
•Previous experience within a Planning role within a food manufacturing environment.
•Advanced Excel skills
High level of SKU variability
Raw material/stock handling and warehouse systems management experience
•Broad knowledge of high volume IT transactional systems.
•Have excellent attention to detail and excellent communication skills
•Be a driver of change and work on own initiative.
•Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
