This is an exciting opportunity to join an interesting, fast-growing small/medium publisher located in Peterborough with 19 staff, running several businesses in the print and digital e-commerce worlds.
They are creative and entrepreneurial, and as a matter of culture they strive to punch above their weight and share financial success with employees.
They produce 2 flagship magazines, which are distributed online, in print through their subscriber database and through major high street and independent newsagents. They operate eight websites, all using WordPress, which together represent six separate businesses.
What the job involves
You will be reporting to the Brand and Marketing Manager, together making a team of two.
You will be the sort of person who enjoys and thrives on achieving goals and beating targets. You will be required to create graphical content and copy, manage its distribution, and then track, analyse and adjust your marketing campaigns to maximise sales.
You need to demonstrate skills in creating and building print and digital advertisement/marketing graphics and text using Adobe software. You must be analytical as well as creative, organised and in control of timelines by pre-planning and preparing work.
You will track and analyse their marketing efforts through Google Analytics and other social media tools, using Excel spreadsheets to generate management reports.
You will also have to work with webpages, creating content and layouts for them.
You will need to liaise with all departments of the business in order to successfully market our products and services.
This is a superb opportunity for someone to grow their skills and understanding of marketing in highly focused marketplaces.
Personal Profile
You must be personable, able to meet new people and represent their business in commercial meetings and at expo events.
You need to be organised enough to manage several campaigns across several businesses and stay calm under pressure.
Must-haves
- A happy, hard-working, creative, self-motived and ambitious work-ethic.
- Ability to learn new skills
- Educational or commercial experience with some amount of graphic design
- Working knowledge of at least one of the following Adobe software applications: Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
Desirable
- Knowledge of HTML and/or CSS.
Salary
Salary is dependent on ability and experience. A discretionary, results-based bonus scheme applies after successful probationary period.
