New Build Property Maintenance Technician (2 Posts)
Fixed Term/Secondment contract for 12 Months
Hackney is London's most diverse, dynamic borough. Reaching from the Square Mile to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, this is an area of rapid economic growth, particularly in technology, media, fashion and other creative industries. Hackney has more green spaces than any other inner London borough; some of the capital's finest schools; first class transport connections; excellent public services; and thriving arts, cultural and retail sectors. We seek people with ambition, creativity and commitment to ensure our economic growth provides benefits for everyone and creates opportunities to transform the lives of residents.
We are in the middle of a hugely ambitious home-building programme of mixed-tenure developments. For the first time, the Council is acting as both property developer and landlord, selling and managing its own homes, which is a significant, challenging and exciting change to how the Council works and the way things have been done.
These new, high-standard properties will help ensure our long-term future and, importantly, will deliver the large numbers of new homes needed in a rapidly-growing and changing borough. The successful delivery of this project forms part of the Council's top four priorities.
We are now recruiting a new team created to ensure the efficient and effective management and maintenance of these new build properties.
The New Build Property Maintenance Technicians will provide a high quality repairs and maintenance service to the internal and external elements of all new build properties and ensure a positive reputation for the Council. The role will also require effective liaison with the scheme contractor to maintain standards and relevant warranties and guarantees.
The successful candidates will have a 'can do' attitude, ensuring excellent and proficient service delivery for residents. The new team, under the leadership of the Head of Service, will need to operate separately during a transitional period with a remit to dissolve into mainstream as an end goal.
Successful candidates will be recruited on an initial 12-month contract, with the understanding that the role will be a flexible one, growing and developing as more new-build properties are created.

Please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification. It is essential that you include a supporting statement, addressing how your skills, knowledge and experience meet all the aspects of the post, as indicated in the job description and person specification.
