For this role you must be a professional proven practitioner who feels ready for increased responsibility or a current accomplished Head of Science who is looking to prove themselves in a new environment who has the skills to offer colleagues advice and guidance. You must have a determination to help make improvements and high, but realistic expectations for your school. You must show the ability to cultivate an organised environment where all students are able to grasp the lesson through the clarity of your delivery. You will be an experienced teacher who can plan and deliver lessons in line with the inclusion policies of the school and motivate and inspire others.
About the Head of Science Role
In this exciting Head of Science position you will be managing the ambitious Science Department and implementing your own ideas. You will be building a new skillset with the help of an impressive CPD scheme and reporting regularly back to the senior leadership team . Your position will require you to share best practice across your subject, with the aim to improve teaching and learning, raising the quality of overall. You will be developing the current curriculum provision to include modern and innovative content to engage your students. Being a senior member of the department, you will need to ensure the faculty is well equipped and resources are fully supplied. As a Head of Science you will be helping to deliver your own timetable of classes up to A Level as well as monitoring others to ensure they met their timetable commitments effectively.
