The Client

Our client is one of the UK's leading Construction and Development companies. Having established themselves as a leading name, synonymous with quality, they have grown to be a successful and respected brand in the building, property development and construction industries, over the last two centuries. Our client work across a range of residential builds and mixed use schemes including student accommodation, PRS, residential apartment and housing.

Currently they have an exciting opportunity within their Student Accommodation division, for an experienced Senior Project Manager. Due to the nature of the developments, Projects are usually based in vibrant cities, with a strong Student Scene, such as London, Bournemouth, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Leeds & Birmingham to name a few.

The Project

Based in Cardiff, this is a prestigious 45 Storey Student Accommodation Build. On completion this will be the tallest building in Wales and one of the tallest outside Central London. The site will start April/May 2017 with service diversions and enabling works, this will be dealt with under separate PC, with our client taking over PC at piling stage starting in July. Completion Aug 2020

The Candidate

Ideally you will be based in South Wales / South West England, as my client are looking to secure a Project Manager for the long term, with work following on from the completion of this project. However the role may also be offered on a Fixed Term Contract basis (As detailed below in Salary / Remunerations).

Candidates need the following skills / competencies:

- High-rise Concrete frame experience
- Experience of the logistics of working on a High Rise Residential Build and have a strong understanding of tight city centre schemes with all the logistics involved with them.
- A proven track record of delivering High Rise Schemes
- Experience of leading a team on a development of this size, including sub-contractors
- To have worked in a Project Management role for at least 3 years. (My client are not looking for someone who wants to "take on the challenge" they require someone who has a proven track record of successfully working on a development of this size within similar time frames)

Requiring education/ qualifications to a level of NVQ 4, Degree, HND or equivalent experience

- A valid SMSTS certificate
- Member of Chartered Institute of Building or working towards desirable
- Strong time management
- Management qualification
- Good knowledge of contract law
- Strong communication, persuasive and assertive skills
- First Aid Certificate useful but not essential
