Our client, the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy (CCFE) in Oxfordshire is the UK's national laboratory for fusion research. With a strong focus upon cutting edge science and technology CCFE is one of the country's most prestigious research hubs.
We are currently seeking Mechanical Fitters to join our established site team
Duties will include: Light and heavy engineering
Mechanical fitting, assembly and maintenance tasks
Operation of typical mechanical workshop machines e.g. Lathes, Mills, Drills, Bandsaws
Desirable specialist experience in the following fields: (pipe fitting, vacuum systems, pumps, fault diagnosis, assembly work, precision mechanical fitting).
Candidates must have either: Apprenticeship or demonstrate equivalent training
City & Guilds
ONC/HNC or equivalent
Desirable: ECITB card or similar
Experience in active area operations and working while wearing respiratory protective equipment
Experience in working in pressurised suits

Hourly base rate GBP14.74 PAYE, including holidays GBP17.07.
Overtime available.
For candidates travelling 50 miles, or more, an hourly lodge allowance of GBP6.75ph is payable until the end of the shutdown period, approx. Aug 17 (capped at 7.5 hours per day).
