A large NHS organisation is currently seeking a very capable individual to work as a Procurement Specialist supporting the transformation of their overall strategy for Procurement.

Main Responsibilities:

- Deliver the existing procurement work plan to ensure that all procurement requirements are planned in a timely manner;
- Develop the work plan to maximise the QIPP/CIP savings opportunity
- Maintain, develop and report on Contracts Register Maintain, develop and report on our waiver log;
- Maintain, develop and report on spend analysis tool, operate in line with the organisation Standing Financial Instructions and policies;
- Respond positively and quickly to Trust requests for procurement support;
- Ensure that the Board via the Finance & Investment Committee have a clear understanding of the totality of procurement spend within the organisation;
- Manage and control the budget for the Procurement service also engage with end users;
- Develop and execute the current procurement strategy (2016 - 19), including the development of procurement policies and processes so that they remain effective;
- Ensure that information required to deliver procurements is accurate, and achieve the performance targets set in the procurement strategy and business plan;
- Established effective contract management mechanisms for strategic contracts;

A successful candidate will have:

- Commercially astuteness and be financially skilled to a degree level or gained through relevant experience;
- Expert knowledge of procurement strategy acquired by a professional procurement qualification (CIPS)
- Prince II, MSP, ITIL or other recognised Project or Programme Management qualification
