JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: OEM Warranty, Packaging & CAD support Engineer
Person profile: To hold a formal engineering qualification
To be willing to develop relevant quality qualifications
To be willing to develop a working knowledge of ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001, TS 16949
Ability to motivate others towards achieving the Company's aims and objectives.
Good commercial, negotiation, planning and organisational skills.
Networking skills are considered essential.
To support development of component shipment packaging requirements
Networking with Company personnel, departments, customers and suppliers to promote the image of the Company in a professional but friendly manner
Immaculate self-presentation necessary to promote a conservative, professional image
Ability to communicate at all levels clearly, thoughtfully and accurately
Willingness to travel away from home if the position requires it
Main Objectives: To service all product quality issues from the clients OEM and OES customer base
To develop and administer Quality communications with OEM customers
To develop packing specifications to meet customer requirements and obtain approval documentation
To support customer quality documentation requirements for existing & new product applications
To provide OEM account management support including
- New product introduction and ensure compliance to customer documentation requirements
- Support technical presentations
- Maintain supplier performance KPI data & monthly submissions
- Support customer performance monitoring systems
Responsibilities: OEM Warranty & Quality
- Log product returns into OEM warranty systems and co-ordinate submission of the final investigation report
- Monitor, record, report to maintain Quality performance to OEM customer base by accessing customers Portals/Website's or by submitting appropriate documentation
- Support customer quality documentation reporting requirements ie 8D, 5Y.
- Support development of an action plan to achieve future OEM & OES customer quality requirements
- Liaise with outside agencies, including the Quality & Packing Departments of OEM & OES customers
- Support internal process & quality improvements
Technical
- Assist the OEM Department with the communication, administration and reporting of OEM warranty returns. Validate any charges incurred
- Develop OEM customer relationships, in particular with OEM Quality & packaging personnel
- Monitor daily OEM customer quality websites, track consignments, arrange product collections and process claims
- Create, obtain approval and maintain OEM customer packaging specifications
- Work with OEM customers on packaging technology and best practice
- Maintain the quality of the packing process & packaging material ensuring compliance to associated process safety guidelines
- Support maintenance of OEM Intranet procedures
- Assist with OEM & OES Technical reporting requirements.
- Maintain documentation of the procedures involved for OEM & OES returned product testing
- Ensure that timely and efficient action is taken
- Keep abreast of the latest engineering developments in the automotive field
- Liaise with other Sales companies on global projects where necessary
