They are on the lookout for an Electronics Design Engineer to join their team due to an exciting period of growth. Their current projects include: high efficiency single and three phase AC to DC converters; wave-energy power take-off devices; wireless power transfer converters; and fully digital microprocessor controlled converters. Power range covers 500W to 25kW and often involve industrial or academic collaboration.The Role The Power Electronics Engineer will join an innovative design team with a reputation for solving demanding power supply design problems. Whether it be high power density, a harsh environment (space, offshore) or class-leading efficiency, this team rises to the challenge.You will be expected to work closely with a senior engineer in the design of electronic hardware for all (or part) of varied power conversion devices. Other members of the team will deal with mechanical and software tasks.The CandidateYou should have proven experience in a related power electronics role. You should have demonstrable success in designing one or more of the following: SMPS; digitally controlled power supplies; motor controllers; wireless power or inductive power supplies; mixed signal electronics. Previous use of ORCAD/pSpice and MatLab/Simulink would also be useful. Over and above the technical experience it is important that the candidate is suited to the company environment. The design team is a small fast moving unit, working on multiple projects. The successful candidate will need to be innovative, flexible and pragmatic with good time management skills and the ability to deliver to tight time-frames and within budget.
