Our client is recruiting for two experienced Driver Trainers (including emergency response driving instruction).

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the newly combined Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service that is committed and passionate about changing and saving lives.

Please note, you may be required to work from either training centre, West Moors, in Dorset or Devizes in Wiltshire and the successful candidates will be required to deliver training anywhere within the Service, therefore you will require a flexible approach to your work.

The Role:
As Driver Trainer your remit will include:
• Provide driver training to meet the Service Driving Policy
• Ensure that the statutory and operational requirements for safe competent drivers are met
• Assess driving standards and to provide appropriate feedback to develop driver skills throughout the service to enhance a safe working environment

To be considered as a candidate for this role it is essential that you meet the following criteria:
• Registered DVSA Approved Driving Instructor, Grade 4 or above or Grade A or B if DVSA Standards Check completed post-April 2014
• A full UK driving licence which includes Category C (LGV)
• Experience of driving emergency vehicles on blue lights
• Level 3 award in learning & development
• Level 3 assessor award
• Use of your own vehicle will be required, however, a Service vehicle may be available
• You will be required to travel across both counties
• The role involves some evening and weekend working so flexibility is essential
• Due to the nature of this role, a Disclosure & Barring Service Check (DBS) / Baseline Personal Security Screening (BPSS) clearance will be undertaken on the successful individual prior to offer of employment.
