Due to continuing business success and growth we now have a fantastic opportunity available for an Education and Visitor Centre Officer to join our team in Ardley on a 6-month fixed term basis, working 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
 

Education and Visitor Centre Officer responsibilities:

 

  • Raising awareness and a better understanding of the ERF and Viridor’s facilities by developing and delivering appropriate, safe and timely educational visits, informative programmes, activities and educational materials.
  • Supporting the day-to-day management of the Ardley ERF education and visitor centre.
  • Ensuring that all visits are conducted safely adhering to all Viridor and site policies and procedures.
  • Contributing to the achievement of annual performance objectives relating to the number of visits and visitor satisfaction ratings.
  • Supporting the delivery of promotional and education activities.
  • Ensuring that all education programmes and resources at the ERF adhere to Viridor’s corporate brand guidelines and other policies and procedures.
  • Supporting a range of communications, public relations and marketing programmes and activities.
  • Supporting a sustained and high profile programme of targeted promotional and educational activities.
  • Liaising with the local authorities, the press, other stakeholder and community groups.
  • Assisting in general organisation and administration including updating Hub.

 

The ideal Education and Visitor Centre Officer:


To be successful for this role, you will need to have a knowledge of, or experience working with or liaising with, schools and teaching methods and systems. You will also need:

 

 

  • Knowledge of effective communication methods appropriate to the task.
  • The ability to manage projects, prioritise and work to rigid timelines.
  • Excellent communicator, credible and able to influence at all levels.
  • Excellent Presentation Skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience of delivering education programmes at formal and informal levels.
  • Experience of working with public groups from diverse backgrounds including school students, the wider public and other stakeholders.
  • Experience of public relations and communications.
  • Educated to a high level of education (preferably to degree level or similar), with relevant qualifications.
  • A current valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes
