Our client is a thriving accountancy firm based 20 minutes of easy commute between Harrogate and York. Due to continued growth of the business, they are currently recruiting for:

• Accounts Clerk/Assistant and
• A Bookkeeper

The successful candidates will be friendly and approachable as team culture is hugely important within the company. They will be self-motivated, with a positive outlook and a clear focus on accuracy, whilst naturally assessing their own performance and showing initiative.

Position Summaries
Both the Bookkeeper and Accounts Clerk/Assistant will work as part of the accounts team to provide an efficient, reliable and friendly service to personal and business clients. Each role will vary with key responsibilities;

• Preparing Documents and Accounts accurately and ensuring deadlines are met for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Accurately prepare quarterly VAT Returns and any relevant documents and ensure deadlines are met
• Carrying out general book-keeping for individual clients, some using SAGE
• Accurately maintain and update manual and computer records
• Monitor and report on client activities and provide relevant reports to Client Manager/Managing Director

About you
The successful candidates will have experience of working in a busy accountancy office environment and ideally have gained experience working within a firm of accountants, along with the following skills and experience

• Accurate IT skills; proficient in Microsoft Office programmes.
• Have experience using SAGE
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to confidentially, sensitively and diplomatically deal with a range of clients, colleagues and secure information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective personal organisation and time-management skills; able to use own initiative and work effectively as part of a team
• Willing to occasionally work outside regular office hours when required and undertake general office tasks
