A wonderful,nlocal Primary School in Wakefield are currently recruiting an Early Years Teacher to provide an exciting and stimulating learning journey for pupils in the Early Years group. Due to expansion and growth in the well reputed school, the role has become available on a long term contract basis until December 2017 and has potential to go on further or become permanent. Joining a brilliant and supportive team of staff and senior management, the successful applicant will undergo professional development and training where necesary and will be given the opportunity to self-develop their career.

The role will include:

  • Implement agreed school policies and guidelines
  • Be familiar with and implement specific school policies - child protection, health & safety, confidentiality, equalities
  • Support initiatives decided by the Headteacher, SLT and other staff
  • Plan appropriately to meet the needs of all pupils, through differentiation of tasks
  • Be able to set clear targets, based on prior attainment, for pupils learning
  • Provide a stimulating classroom environment, where resources can be accessed appropriately by all pupils
  • Keep appropriate and efficient records, integrating formative and summative assessment into weekly and termly planning
  • Report to parents on the development, progress and attainment of pupils
  • Maintain good order and behaviour amongst pupils, in accordance with the schools behaviour policy
  • Participate in meetings which relate to the school's management, curriculum, administration or organisation
  • Communicate and co-operate with specialists from outside agencies
  • Lead, organise and direct support staff within the classroom
  • Share in the teaching of a class of Reception pupils and ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment and reporting meet their varying learning, social and emotional needs
  • Maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school, both inside and outside the classroom
  • Contribute to constructive team-building amongst teaching and non-teaching staff, parents and governors
  • Ensure that the current national conditions of employment for schoolteachers are met.

  • Is qualified to teach - QTS / NQT
