United Response is a leading national charity providing support to young people and adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs. Who we are looking for
We need reliable and passionate people to join our close-knit team of Support Workers, supporting people out in the community, as well in their own homes. You’ll help them cook, clean, pay bills, apply for jobs, make friends and a thousand things in between.
Not got any experience?
Don’t worry! Those new to care will be fully supported. Our comprehensive training programme offers everyone – regardless of previous knowledge and experience – the chance to create a career they can be proud of.
What we need from you
You need compassion, integrity and to treat people with dignity and respect. You need to be reliable because people are depending on you, be able to travel between locations and work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and overnight as needed. You also need to be a great communicator, both verbally and in writing and have basic IT and numerical skills.
Making it happen- Your Role
This is a responsible Role which is really varied, sometimes challenging and often fun. The job is all about giving people encouragement, guidance and support so they can live as independently as possible, make their own choices and do the things they enjoy.
On a daily basis, you may be involved in supporting people with the following activities:
- Cooking
- Cleaning
- Washing
- Managing Finances
- Shopping
- Going on holiday/ Days out
- Travelling to and from work
