Do you want to be in at the start of something new? Charles Darwin Primary opened in September 2016 and we are continuing to grow. Popular with parents and offering a fresh approach to education in the heart of the historic city of Norwich, we mix an open and modern approach to teaching with a broad academic curriculum.

We are now looking for an assistant principal with a Year 2 class responsibility from September 2017. We set high expectations for our students and know that children achieve their best when they are challenged, engaged, and motivated.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, inspiring, and enthusiastic assistant principal who is able to take the lead across the school, with a particular focus on teaching, learning, and assessment. You will be able to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons that keep pupils focused on learning, and you'll be knowledgeable about the development stages throughout Key Stage 1. You will be able to embrace the school ethos of quality first teaching and purposeful learning.

We are looking for an assistant principal who:

Is committed to ensuring their practice highlights all children and upholds every child's right to be accepted and treated with respect and dignity.
Is passionate about teaching and learning, being able to discuss innovative approaches embedded in outstanding commitments to pedagogy.
Is committed to promoting high standards in all areas of learning.
Is highly motivated and brings a strong work ethic to our hardworking team.
Is an excellent, confident communicator whose enthusiasm for learning is contagious.
Is highly resilient and demonstrates a proactive, solution-focused approach to personal and professional development.

We can offer:

A new and purposeful Year 2 learning environment.
Brand-new classroom and small class size.
The opportunity to grow and influence current school practices.
A diverse and supportive parent community: we currently have 100% parental engagement in our children's online learning journals.
A forward thinking learning community: all staff who joined in September 2016 have either progressed or are working on new qualifications, with the support of the school.
A supportive and child-focused senior leadership team: you will have your voice heard and will play an active role in helping to shape the direction of the school.
A unique city centre location: we are in close proximity to a number of excellent external providers and take our children on regular trips into the local community.

For further details of this opportunity please attend our recruitment evening on Monday, March 27, between 6pm and 7pm at Charles Darwin Primary, Rose Lane, Norwich, NR1 1DJ.
