Estimator - Civils - Basingstoke

About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for an Estimator - Civils to join our Regional team to work in Basingstoke.

What you'll be doing
As, Estimator, you will:

• Oversee and/or interrogate design options and 'value' solutions, and if appropriate, identify the attractiveness of a project based on sound estimating principles
• Support the development and implementation of the appropriate digital toolsets to execute cost take-off and other estimating activities, such as 5D cost planning
• Ensure that cost planning and estimating are accurate and reflect the project requirements and risk profile
• Maintain the company supply chain database/ Estimating system with tender information from allocated bids
• Carry out measurement & take-offs, pricing and entering into the system

Who we're looking for
You will:

• Have previous experience of managing/implementing all aspects of the estimating process for projects, within the construction industry
• Hold a valid CSCS card
• Have membership of a relevant professional body such as RICS/CIOB/RIBA/ICE/CIBSE
• Be knowledgeable of best practice solutions and optimisation of innovative ideas and an understanding of the principles of Lean Construction and 5D cost planning
• Have good working knowledge of pricing and quantification methods
