Located in Sheffield we are currently working alongside a highly regarded manufacturing firm who due to sustained growth are now looking to appoint a Business controller to work within their finance department.

The purpose of the role is to support the companies management teams in their value-creation focus through providing robust analysis of opportunities that pursue growth and optimise the business's cost base. In addition the role will contribute significantly to the development of internal financial processes for this dynamic business. Flexibility is required as the core of this role is project based - the elements of which are outlined below:

Finance Projects

* Assist in the development and implementation of finance-focussed projects that improve process or provide key analysis for effective decision making
* Support internal planning processes through integration with underlying performance initiatives
* Conduct robust research and analysis with corresponding financial modelling in relation to potential market/operational opportunities
* Preparation of briefings and presentations for senior management (e.g. internal meetings, Divisional meetings)
* Perform internal and external bench marking
* In context of the role's Divisional-level responsibilities, ability to provide support in the analysis and execution of M&A transactions including financial modelling, due diligence assignments and post-acquisition integration

* Willingness to work and travel to other parts of Western Europe
* Ability to build relationships with multiple stakeholders

Qualifications and Relevant Experience:

* Qualified accountant with a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience in an operational finance role. Experience in a Transaction Services/Corporate Finance environment would be a distinct advantage.
* Strong systems skills with experience of ERP changes or implementation an advantage
* Fluency in English - both oral and written, additional European languages a major plus
* Strong financial and analytical skills combined with strong attention to detail
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
* Experience of working for an international business

Reporting - The role will have direct reporting line to the Finance Director, with other reporting lines specific to other projects developed as required
