THE COMPANY One of the most well-known Contractors in Scotland are looking to expand their team by way of Site Engineer for a major depot build project based in Midlothian. Be it landmark station refurbishments or platform extensions, tunnelling or bridges, this contractor has a fantastic track record of delivering Rail projects to Network Rail time and time again and as such, have been rewarded with works on a depot being built to house new Electric Trains.
THE ROLE We are currently searching for a Site Engineer for a minimum of 3 months that has previous experience dealing with disciplines such as track, platforms, signalling, building interface, deep drainage, embankments, earthworks and soil nailing. It is works similar to these that you will be working on in the position and typical duties will largely include Setting Out but this is not a position for a straight Setting Out Engineer. You will need an appreciation and understanding of tasks such as quality control, ITP's, downloading coordinates, reading designs and using AutoCAD which will form the preparation for when you need to Set Out using Leica Robotic and Laser Dumpy.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE The ideal Site Engineer for this position will have previous experience acting in a similar position and although a PTS is not essential for the role it is likely you will have one and will have worked in the Rail industry for some time. You will be able to work both nights and weekends and you must have a valid CSCS card. An ICI will also be advantageous. Interviews are taking place this Friday so don't want around to get in touch.
THE RATE The rate for this position will be a flat rate of GBP25per hour plus an uplift for nights and weekends.
