Avionics Bay Maintenance & Repair Manager: An Opportunity has arisen for an Avionics Bay Manager for a major defence company based at Luton

Avionics Bay Maintenance & Repair Manager Responsibilities:
* Directing and managing a multi-disciplined, avionics engineering team - including company (Radar & DASS), BAES and RAF (GFX).
* Delivering TyTAN/JAS Bay Avionics Maintenance & Repair support services in an off-site (RAF Coningsby), Customer environment.
* Management of the ARC, in conjunction with the BAES Dep ARC Mgr and RAF SNCO - monitoring daily activities, resource and service.
* Maintaining the quality & airworthiness of the service/products in accordance with the contract.
* Maintaining MAOS Pt145 for the company for Radar and DASS aspects and Supporting BAES Pt145 for BAES equipment.
* Introducing continuous improvement and transformation activities to deliver the contract delivery & financial targets.
* Daily liaison with the JAS, RAF and BAE Systems teams at RAF Coningsby to understand and disseminate Operational requirements to ARC staff and back office JAS teams
* Integrate with the JAS Logs and Maintenance Planning personnel to optimise Planning and Output.
* Hold Form 4 Responsibilities as Bay Manager for the company MAOS Pt145 approval. Instigate, develop and approve documented processes, procedures, standards of work and behaviour - maintaining MAOS Pt 145 for the company within the ARC.
* Working with the Maintenance Planner to ensure Management of Facilities, Tools and Test Equipment to deliver the ARC output and changes to capability (C-List) within the ARC.
* Introduce Continuous Improvement and working with the JAS Transformation Team to introduce improvements into the ARC.
* Identification and reporting of risks and opportunities within the ARC, supporting the Project Mgt community in defining and implementing mitigation actions.
* Support the management of the Common Spares Pool (CSP).
* Manage the joint company, BAES and GFX ARC team in co-ordination with the BAES Dep ARC Mgr and RAF SNCO.
* Act as functional Line Mgr for company UK ARC staff - managing their careers, training & development activities.

Avionics Bay Maintenance & Repair Manager Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree-level qualifications in avionics engineering or maintenance, or equivalent experience and knowledge
* 3+ years' experience in managing or delivering Avionics Bay Maintenance activity
* An understanding of the Supportability Engineering discipline.
* Familiarity with equipment Maintenance facility operations
* Strong ability to multi-task and make priority judgements
* An excellent and confident communicator, able to engage with multiple stakeholders at varying levels.
* Good numeracy and literacy skills.
* Demonstrated knowledge of complex avionics systems/equipment
Desirable:-
* Experience of working/managing in a MAOS Pt 145 or equivalent governance environment (i.e. EASA Pt 145)
* Familiarity with asset management systems would be beneficial
* Experience of multi-company collaborations or partnered working environments.
