Which are born from a unique and prestigious heritage of the leading independent leisure group in Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire.Each venue having an enviable reputation for fine food and drink served in superb surroundings with each restaurant and bar having its own unique concept.The Company is looking for a talented Pastry Chef for one of their most successful and busy restaurants in Southampton, someone who has flair and ambition, and who wants to develop and produce great desserts and afternoon teas. The position is permanent.You will be creating and producing great desserts for the restaurant's ala carte menu and scones and patisseries for afternoon teas.The Company takes great pride in the quality of the local fresh food they serve, the diversity of their menu and the attentive, passionate and friendly staff they employ. If you have the ingredients and can create what the customer wants, then that is your goal.Customers expect a great experience every time they visit one of the Company's Hotels, Restaurants and Bars. Together as a team it's your job to ensure that the customer's expectations are met and hopefully exceeded every time they visit. Key Features of the Role: Able to create and define your own reputation for restaurant customers as well as for the corporate events, that are on a regular basis. With a desire to build your reputation and culinary distinction and trend. All food is prepared on site using the best ingredients that are in season, local where possible using carefully sourced suppliers.You will work alongside the Head Chef and help assist them in developing a best team approach. As team work is required throughout the whole group and one of their core principles. As a team, you will help influence an effective kitchen and help achieve a good gross profit and efficient ordering / stock control.Working 48 hours per week, shift patterns shared across Monday to Sunday, 10: 30 - 14: 00, 18: 00 - 22: 30, 14: 00 - Close. Average hours per week are currently 42.Organisational skills and the ability to thrive is a very busy restaurant where The Company's reputation for consistently preparing cooking and presenting dishes to the right quality is second to none. As Pastry Chef, you will set the highest standards of food quality, consistency and hygiene, as you will be working in very busy kitchen environment, needing you to demonstrate good attention to detail.Knowledge and Skills: The Company is looking for that special talent whose ethos is based on the fact that if you have the ingredients and the time then nothing should be off the menu to a customer. Not just what is on the menu is all that is served.This opportunity will suit an experienced or talented Pastry Chef who wants to make that break into a very busy kitchen as well as producing desserts for corporate dining and prestigious events.You must have a strong Pastry Chef / kitchen background, having developed your career and experience through career tenure.The Company would like someone who has been a creative force in their own kitchen and who wants to make a name for themselves in Southampton as an outstanding Pastry Chef.This is an outstanding opportunity with career progression, basic salary reviews with a company that want to help guide and support you through an amazing long term career.
