As a Head of Project Controls at HS2 you will lead on the evaluation of project schedule, cost, risk and quality targets for the respective area they are assigned to. Working with internal colleagues, the successful candidates will lead on the establishment and monitoring of project governance controls in order to enable the successful delivery of Phase 2 of HS2

About the role:

Working with internal colleagues, establish project schedule, cost, risk and quality targets for the relevant area programme of work to support the delivery of Phase 1 of HS2 Work closely with the Project Controls Director to establish operating policies to mitigate risk throughout the project, and take a lead in the monitoring of risk policy adherence Support the Project Director by providing specialist advice and technical knowledge to respond to project delays, issues and other challenges throughout the project Work closely with specialist teams in the Directorate, across the HS2 tripartite, and with relevant external authorities to ensure knowledge sharing across the organisation and to engage with external stakeholders as required Provide periodic project progress updates to the Executive and other stakeholders where required Develop governance processes and review policies in order to ensure they are in line with strategic business objectives Lead a large team by setting individual objectives, reviewing performance/appraisals and providing on-going feedback on a formal & informal basis so that all staff are aware of what they are required to achieve and how they are performing against their objectives


About You:

Proven track record of leading a project controls team in a large programme environment A proven understanding of the delivery phases of transport and/or major infrastructure projects Proven ability to manage internal and external stakeholders including managing the flow of complex project information Strong attention to detail at all times with an ability to analyse complicated data on risk, schedule, cost and quality
