RDF Group plc is an unlisted company providing software solutions and managed services, while also providing staff to meet client requirements for both permanent and contract staff. The role of the company is to provide bespoke solutions of the highest order to meet client software and system requirements. We also provide highly qualified IT specialist personnel that in many cases have a long association with RDF.

The Role

General:

To provide strong financial leadership and robust financial control to the RDF through managing and controlling all fixed cost elements of the RDF business, undertaking analysis and producing accurate financial reports and projections for Senior Managers and the Board.

Be able to select service providers ensuring that their performance is in line RDF's strategic development, creating/developing new systems and processes to control costs and protect integrity.

Ensuring RDF remains solvent through handling financial policies and conforming to relevant legislation as well as managing all third party supplier contractual arrangements.

Specific:

To manager the restructuring of the finance department which includes:
*Managing the transition to a new team of 2 part qualified management and financial accountants who will be working alongside the incumbents initially.
*Managing the transition to a new accounting and time sheet system.
*Managing the 31st March year end including liaison with the newly appointed auditors
and performing some specific investigative accounting work relating to some key contracts.

Principal Accountability:

*Provide the Chief Executive with evaluation of business strategy plans proposed by Senior Management. Gathering and presenting ideas and areas of opportunity for finalisation by the Chief Executive.

*Active member of the Senior Management Team, contributing to the Groups overall strategy and objectives.

*Prepare and deliver all of the annual financial results for RDF's operating, including the formal external audited Directors' Annual Report and Accounts. Liaising with the auditors to agree and achieve timely sign-off of the annual accounts.

*Produce monthly financial reporting ensuring budget holders have accurate records of income and expenditure for which they are responsible. Additionally provide regular formal and informal reports to the Directors and Board with recommendations in relation to addressing any potentially negative issues that may restrict the trading position.

*Manage complex external business agreements and partnerships maintaining the balance between cost effectiveness and operational integrity. Seek to identify opportunities and remedies for improved operational efficiency where possible.

*Create and maintain the integrity of all financial controls to safeguard the company's assets, continually updating and creating systems to support developments and improve efficiency of service ensuring that all procedures meet current legal requirements.

*Ensure that RDF is in full compliance with current and future statutory requirements.

*Construct the annual financial budget for RDF reflecting the true operating position and proven potential.

*Maintain the financial reserves and provide advice and guidance to the Chief Executive and Board to ensure appropriate levels of available funds.

*Liaising with RDF's bankers and financiers to ensure adequate working capital and available funds.

*Define and maintain financial accounting IT structure and supplier agreements to ensure best value and adherence to defined specifications

*Day to day line management and development of the Finance and Administration staff ensuring the delivery of timely reports, controls and service.

*Ensure regular maintenance and risk assessments of fire equipment are undertaken to ensure on-going compliance with Health and Safety legislation and insurance requirements. Maintaining and updating building emergency procedures.

*Ensure that the appropriate vehicle insurance cover is in place to cover all drivers of company vehicles and hire vehicles.

*Be responsible for ensuring the companies and group operates with overall adherence to all relevant legislation including Health and Safety and the Companies Act.

*Responsible for all contractual agreements and relationships supporting the facilities infrastructure for RDF in relation to insurance, cleaning, security etc. ensuring that these run effectively and efficiently.

Person Specification

*Chartered Accountant
*A Strong track record in financial and general business management
*Proven ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders
*Basic understanding IT industry
*Previous experience of software house and employment agency services
*Proven ability to operate at a strategic management level
