We are looking for an experienced ground engineering / contaminated land professional to take a role in the continuing development and expanding of our core services from our existing RPS Office in Birmingham. The position would suit a self-motivated person that is comfortable managing projects and also developing new business. It would particularly suit a professional that is looking to expand an enthusiastic team. You would work alongside environmental scientists, engineers, hydrogeologists, and hydrologists and the candidate should have a similar academic background. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates that have solid experience in ground engineering, site investigation and remediation design. The individual should have an excellent technical understanding and genuine experience in working with varied clients and managing projects and/or mentoring team members. It is also essential for the person to have extensive and varied skills working across varied business sectors. They will have good experience in development projects working with private sector clients as well as negotiating with regulators. Key Responsibilities of the Role: ?? Plan, review and manage own projects ensuring client requirements and deadlines are met and are undertaken in accordance with the QA system ?? Take accountability for own projects, monitoring both its performance and finances ?? Quality control the output of projects in accordance with the approved QA system including preparing project plans and fee agreements ?? Ensure quality advice is provided and work meets the required standard ?? Contributing to the business development for the ECGE Team including work winning and marketing ?? Build and maintain client relationships where relevant and / or support client management in conjunction with Directors and generate work ?? Responsible for signing timesheets / holidays and projects for staff responsible for ?? Responsible for interfacing with other section heads and Directors to ensure appropriate use and deployment of staff and resources to meet the team's operational and project needs ?? Undertake people management activities for the team, including appraisals and development ?? Supervise and support junior members of staff Whilst the role would be based in our Birmingham Office, the individual will work on projects across the UK. Essential Skills: ?? Degree in, civil/geotechnical engineering or environmental science; ?? Relevant post graduate qualification; ?? Strong technical expertise; ?? Strong management skills and ability to interact well with all staff levels; ?? Proven work winning record and strong commercial acumen; ?? Well organised, reliable, conscientious and enthusiastic; ?? Self-starter able to work under own initiative as well as part of a team; ?? Strong aptitude and drive for business development; ?? Strong experience in contaminated land and remediation, and ?? Strong technical skills in geo -environmental investigation and reporting Desirable Skills: ?? Experienced in team management ?? Public Enquiry experience ?? Management of large geo-environmental projects ?? Chartered through an appropriate professional institution ?? Experience in geotechnical design ?? Hold SiLC/CL:AIRE Suitably Qualified Person ??
