Setting Out Engineer
West Sussex
Rate Negotiable
2-3 years work for the right candidate
My client, a leading civil engineering contractor, are currently seeking an experienced setting out engineer for a project set to commence in April. This project is due to last approximately three years, and my client are happy to engage with a freelance engineer for its entirety.
Duties will include:
- Setting out using total stations, GPS equipment, and to be able to undertake traditional setting out using profiles, batter rail and pegs
- Read and review construction drawings
- Have a good commercial understanding and know the difference between cost and value
- Carry out relevant inspections and testing to ensure conformance of the works with the design and specification
- Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedures
Applicants with and without own kit will be considered, and this will be reflected in the rate.
