Not your typical Electrical Design Engineer position!

For a start it is in York and secondly it is an opportunity for a building services Engineer to make the leap over in to the lucrative and interesting sector of rail!

You will be joining one of the UK's largest and most well known design consultancies in the sector who are one of Network Rails' most preferred of preferred suppliers. As such they are engaged on some of the most challenging, interesting and career defining projects within the UK at present.

Their projects will see you designing the electrical services for railway stations, offices, works areas, storage facilities and more, all to railway specific codes and standards.

In addition to this, they have been doing rather nicely in securing projects in the field of energy from waste; what these projects lack in glamour on the outside of the building they make up for in M&E value. As such, they have a range of systems that will be familiar to you, and others that are not, all of which are closely allied to your own comfort zone.

To be considered for this role, you will need to have a solid building services, electrical design background, coupled with the ability to use Hevacomp or Amtech for calculations while having worked as a Senior Engineer for at least two years previously. You will need to have a minimum of HNC/D qualification in an electrical discipline and ideally be working towards Chartership, either on the graduate or experience route.

The practice is pro-actively working to develop their presence in areas away from rail and EfW, so your previous experience of working on projects such as schools, healthcare etc. will be highly beneficial, particularly if you have an interest in business development and a willingness to help this organisation diversify their market.
