We are looking for a very special person to provide behaviour and learning support to individuals within Upper Key Stage 2 as well as working with groups and supporting the class teacher. The successful candidate will need to be creative, patient, resilient and determined. Having the ability to build strong supportive relationships, they will be able to achieve a fine balance between understanding the need to establish and maintain firm boundaries and having empathy with the barriers to learning that individual children face. In addition they will have excellent communication skills, a good understanding of the primary curriculum and be able to work well independently and as part of a team. They will be able to keep accurate records and work closely with external professional services where necessary, providing insight and information relating the children with whom they work.
In return we offer an Outstanding school environment where excellent behaviour, a thirst for learning and inspirational teaching are the norm. There are many opportunities for professional development, mentoring to support the successful candidate within this vital role and a plentiful supply of humour and chocolate biscuits!
If this sounds like an exciting challenge and your ideal role, we would love to hear from you. Visits to the school are welcomed. Chevening School is committed to the wellbeing and safeguarding of its pupils and successful appointment will be subject to reference checks and an enhanced DBS check.

Information about the school
We are a thriving, forward looking school within an idyllic village setting enjoying close links with St. Botolph's Church and Chevening House. Our Christian values are alive throughout the school and our enthusiastic and responsive children are a joy to teach. The staff team is hardworking and dedicated to providing the best education for the children. Ofsted graded all aspects of the school as outstanding in February 2013. We have a reputation for high standards and are looking for a team player who wants to work in a vibrant, purposeful staff team. Several members of the staff team are Specialist Leaders of Education and others regularly train or support colleagues in our local area. Our teachers are skilled and experienced at supporting colleagues both in our school and in other schools. We enjoy sharing good practice with other schools and learn much from other schools in the process.
Our School and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
