Employing 14,500 staff and with an annual income of £1.3bn, Cardiff & Vale University Health Board is one of Wales’ seven fully integrated health boards. It delivers Primary, Intermediate and Community Care, Mental and Public Health and Acute Hospital Services to 500,000 people across 11 sites in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

The Health Board is the main provider of Tertiary care across south Wales and works actively to collaboratively develop regional services. The organisation’s vision is to create a sustainable healthcare system with a greater focus on care closer to home, illness prevention, enhanced health and well-being, empowering people and delivering outcomes that matter to them and an improved quality of life.

The Role:

  • Reporting to the Chief Executive, as a member of the Executive Team, lead and deliver Workforce and OD strategies to meet UHB objectives and to ensure the continuing transformation of the organisation.
  • Lead and develop the Workforce & OD function, with a focus on enhancing existing systems, processes and structures to ensure it acts as an organisational enabler.
  • Act as an ambassador for Cardiff & Vale and contribute to the wider development of NHS Wales by actively engaging in work/projects on a national level.

The Candidate:

  • Senior Workforce and OD professional with a track record of leadership within an organisation of scale and complexity, whether in healthcare or the wider public and private sectors.
  • Experience of supporting the delivery of significant organisational and cultural change, strategic planning and delivery, and able to evidence success in delivering service improvement and organisational efficiencies.
  • Highly developed leadership and influencing skills with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, key stakeholders and partners at all levels.

Y Rôl:

  • Adrodd i’r Prif Weithredwr, fel aelod o’r Tîm Gweithredol, arwain a chyflwyno strategaethau ar y Gweithlu a Datblygu Sefydliadol er mwyn bodloni amcanion y Bwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol a sicrhau trawsnewidiad parhaus y sefydliad.
  • Arwain a datblygu’r swyddogaeth Gweithlu a Datblygu Sefydliadol, gan ganolbwyntio ar wella systemau, prosesau a strwythurau presennol er mwyn sicrhau ei bod yn gweithredu fel galluogydd sefydliadol.
  • Gweithredu fel llysgennad ar gyfer Caerdydd a’r Fro a chyfrannu at ddatblygiad ehangach GIG Cymru drwy gymryd rhan weithredol mewn gwaith/prosiectau ar lefel genedlaethol.

Yr Ymgeisydd:

  • Gweithiwr proffesiynol y Gweithlu a Datblygu Sefydliadol gyda hanes amlwg o arwain o fewn sefydliad o raddfa a chymhlethdod, boed mewn gofal iechyd neu’r sectorau cyhoeddus a phreifat ehangach.
  • Profiad o gefnogi cyflwyno newidiadau sefydliadol a diwylliannol sylweddol, cynllunio a chyflwyno strategol, a thystiolaeth o lwyddiant o ran cyflwyno gwelliannau i wasanaethau ac effeithlonrwydd sefydliadol.
  • Sgiliau arweinyddiaeth a dylanwadu datblygedig gyda’r gallu i weithio’n effeithiol â chydweithwyr, rhanddeiliaid allweddol a phartneriaid ar bob lefel.
