Senior Private Equity Accountant

Meraki Talent??????s client is currently seeking a talented Accountant to join a well-respected Private Equity House based in Edinburgh. Our client is one of the foremost alternative solutions providers in the UK. They have raised significant capital in recent years with the majority coming from third party institutional investors on a global basis and are solely focussed on PE investing (primary, secondary, direct co-investments) and infrastructure assets. They are an ambitious, client-focussed business which creates and high-performance, stimulating environment for their colleagues.

Whilst this role sits within a Fund Accounting Team, the focus of the role is on business partnering with the investment team and playing a key role on strategic initiatives impacting on the function and business.

Responsibilities within the role include:

• Taking responsibility for the oversight of one or more key external relationships (Administrator, Auditor or Trustee)
• In conjunction with the Investment Directors, play a central role in the valuation process to prepare fund and direct investment valuations
• Continuous process improvement for the function
• Play an active role in new fund launches, representing the Fund Accounting team on allocated new products and fund closures ensuring that operational aspects of legal documentation is appropriate
• Treasury Management, responsible for monitoring cash balances
• IFRS Consolidation
• Management of project initiatives as assigned by the Fund Accounting Manager

The team have Fund Accountant doing the financial statement preparation so this role isn??????t a production position. For this role, my client is seeking a candidate who has 2 ?????? 5 years PQE. Experience gained in Private Equity Accounting or Fund Accounting for a Fund Management or Fund Administration firm is essential. My client requires someone comfortable in a business partnering style role which involves extensive front office liaison and at times influencing.
