Trainee Estimator – Entry Level 
Smethwick, Birmingham (with occasional travel to customer sites) 
£15,000 - £20,000 DOE Plus Benefits including Mileage Allowance 

Our client specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of leading architectural metalwork solutions. Due to ongoing success, they’re now looking for a Trainee Estimator to join their highly-skilled team. 

If you’re a proactive and highly motivated individual looking to develop a career in estimating, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience with a long-established business. 

As a Trainee Estimator, you’ll create accurate, detailed and competitive tenders for customers. Specifically, you will: 

- Produce pricing tenders from customers’ drawings, specifications and site visits 
- Communicate with prospective customers maintaining strong working relationships 
- Assist with the selection of materials and subcontractors for projects 
- Support other Estimators with tenders and budget costing 

This is a fantastic opportunity to take your next step and develop a long term career in estimating. Interested? Whilst no direct experience is necessary, to be considered, you’ll need: 

- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook 
- A full, valid driving licence 
- To live within a reasonable commutable distance of this role 

Knowledge of at least one of the following is also essential: 

- Steel manufacturing 
- Product installation and/or fabrication within construction 
- Material components 
- Estimating and/or pricing 

Our client is eager to hear from installers/fabricators who are looking to move into more of an office job, as well as individuals who have experience of technical sales that have included a pricing element. 

Self-motivated and eager to learn, as a Trainee Estimator, you’ll be a strong negotiator with great influencing and communication skills. You’ll also be organised, highly numerate and able to work well, both individually and within a team.
