Salary: £20,000 - £30,000
Job Type: Permenant
Company Overview
Our Client is the UK’s leading independent digital wedding services company providing a toolset for couples to manage their weddings. This includes an online wedding gift list, guest management tools and a wedding website creator. Multi award winning, we’re a fast-growing tech start-up founded in 2010 with revenues now over £10m.
Our clients websites both have ambitious development plans that will require the design and implementation of new features via an improved UX, designed with a mobile-first philosophy and including native phone apps. We are also re-inventing our back office systems to improve efficiency and cope with issues of scaling.
To fuel our continued growth we’re now looking to expand and focus our in-house development team through the appointment of a Junior Developer at our company headquarters in central Bath.
This is an exciting and flexible role in a dynamic young company.
Purpose of role
The role of the Junior Developer (JD) is to form part of the team of developers and designers which build and maintain our websites and internal systems.
The role is based in a small team, and there will therefore be a wide range of responsibilities, including offering some technical support to users in the company.
The current team consists of four back end and one front end developers and a UX designer, and a development agency on contract. Our core systems use the Django framework and a PostgreSQL database. We are hosted in the cloud using AWS and use Docker and Elastic Beanstalk as a containerisation solution. Our internal systems are being redeveloped using an Angular 2-based front end.
Day to day responsibilities
The Junior Developer will work under the supervision of the Lead Developer and Project Manager on assigned projects, primarily on the back end of the company’s websites, and on our internal systems.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Excellent technical knowledge of the systems in use.

GitHub or other code management system (desirable)
RESTful APIs (useful)
