For an experienced Chef we are offering a fantastic opportunity to join this great team, working straight shifts, Sunday to Thursday. You will get every Friday and Saturday off, along with every evening, so you will have plenty of time to spend with friends and family.
The Role
In this Chef position you will support the Head Chef in this busy kitchen, working in a school catering environment. You will work a 40 hour week, working straight shifts, generally 6am-2pm or 10am-6pm Monday to Thursday and 8am-4pm on Sundays. Friday and Saturday will be your set days off.
As Sous Chef you will:
?? Report directly to the Head Chef and Hospitality Manager
?? Assist in planning and organising all aspects of the food production for staff and students
?? Have a passion for creating interesting, nutritional and healthy meals
?? Have the ability to follow procedures and policies
?? Be experienced in waste management, portion control and budgets
?? Assist in menu planning from recipe, development, portion control and costing
This is a great school environment to work in and you will be looked after as a valuable member of the team. You get uniform and shoes provided, meals on duty and paid breaks - 1 and 1/2 hours per day. Due to the nature of the position an enhanced DBS certificate will be required. These can be processed upon successful application.
The Candidate
The person we are looking for will ideally have worked at a Sous Chef level before or be a strong Chef de Partie looking to step up. We are looking for someone who works well as part of a team and has a good sense of humour. This is a great team to work with and we are looking for someone who will work well with the team dynamics. Reliability and honesty is essential along with good communication skills. You will have the ability to follow policies and procedures and have a good understanding of health and hygiene and HACCP. Minimum qualifications required - NVQ level 2, equivalent or above.
