New opportunity not to be missed! Scope has exciting opportunities for Support Workers to join the team based in Chesham. Joining us on a full time, part time or casual basis, you will receive a salary of £8.18​ per hour.

Birchwood Service in Chesham provides independent accommodation for 15 disabled people.

There are four units made up of three bungalows, one of the bungalows also has a flat attached. Each unit has its own front door, kitchen, bathroom and living area. The house is based close to Chesham town centre with easy access to all of the town's facilities. Customers are supported to exercise independence and choice in every aspect of their lives.

About you

As one of our Support Workers you will be supporting and enabling customers to take as much control over their lives as possible. You will offer appropriate physical and emotional support, which may be in their home or the wider community.

Working as part of a team, you will help support and enable disabled adults in their daily lives with activities, giving personal care and medication. Our Support Workers will offer personal care demonstrating dignity and respect for the individual and where necessary undertake delegated healthcare tasks and advanced medication procedures. All staff are expected to have, or be willing to work towards, a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) or Quality Care Framework (QCF) qualification.

You will support customers to achieve learning outcomes. In accordance with their person-centred plan, you will help them to access education, employment and take part in the life of the local community. This may include supporting the individual with visits to social hubs such as clubs, pubs, restaurants, shops and a range of day to day activities.

You will be expected to maintain appropriate written documentation for each customer. You will also support each customer with writing or creating their person centred plans, so that they are meaningful and accessible to the individual. Ensuring that the customer is involved as much as possible.

You will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety and well-being of individuals, to colleagues and to yourself.
