Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Site Manager with overall scheme-management, including quality standards, safety, programme, and coordination of site works
  • Responsible for health and safety management of the site and site personnel in line with policy and procedure
  • Responsibility for minimising delays and recording all direct impacts on programme
  • Working with the Site Manager, Quantity Surveyor and Contracts Manager to ensure cost awareness on prelims and impact of decisions on resource and management in relation to costs
  • Co-ordinating all statutory and non-statutory third parties that attend site
  • Understand sub-contractors' responsibilities and ensure that all trades and labour are efficiently managed on site
  • Implement and adhere to main and sub-contract programmes and time frames
  • Carry out daily, weekly and monthly recording of information, and completing reporting templates that are set out at the start of the contract
  • Inducting, educating and controlling staffing for the project and monitoring attendance records
  • Control materials call off, monitoring and record usage
  • Any other task as deemed necessary by the business

The successful candidate will have have excellent communication skills at all levels, both written and verbal, along with strong numeric and analytical skills, and will have the ability to work as part of a team aswell as autonomously.

This is an ideal entry position for a Construction Management Graduate who is looking for their first step into Site Management. Progression opportunities will be available upon completion of this project.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A Degree in Construction Management or other related discipline
  • Ability to build productive stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to communicate well with individuals at all levels
  • Ability to manage projects and deliver quality work on time, within budget
  • Able to work as part of a team as well as autonomously
  • Able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of Health & Safety legislation
  • SMSTS and First Aid certification essential
  • Thorough, with strong attention to detail
  • Strong Time management skills with an ability to prioritise
  • Proficient in MS Office programmes; particularly Word and Outlook
